Here's some of Harley's tips for looking and feeling your best:
  1. Go global with your diet. Exposing your palate to different cuisines can help you find foods that are nourishing, slimming and never boring. Whether Greek yogurt, Japanese tofu, or Swedish rye bread, the world’s healthiest countries take pride in a few very special ingredients.
  2. The healthiest solutions are often the simplest ones – like walking instead of driving, broiling instead of frying, and taking a daily multivitamin. Making commonsense decisions about the way you eat, move, and live can help you exponentially increase your health and wellness level.
  3. Try to stick to low-sugar beverages and drink more water. Try all sorts of tea – black, oolong, and green - for an antioxidant flavor boost.
  4. Every step counts. Walk everywhere, whether it’s to the grocery store or to work. Take the stairs whenever you can. If you have to be on the phone, pace around while you talk, or do jumping jacks during TV commercial breaks. Regular movement has an infinite number of benefits.
  5. Enjoy one free day a week! Indulge in eating a treat such as dark chocolate and sleep in late. It will motivate you to keep up a healthy lifestyle during the other six days.

What are you waiting for?  There has never been a more rewarding time to GET FIT!

Trivia TWOsday- LAST WEEK... Link up!

Welcome to the last week of Trivia TWOsday hosted by Marvelous Mommy, Susie B. Homemaker (me), and NapTime Momtog!

From Marvelous Mommy:
"This meme is a great way to get to know each other but I haven't had the time to promote it and it hasn't had very many participants each week so I decided to discontinue it! If I'm not truly passionate about it, it becomes more of a hassle than anything. If you enjoy this meme, please let me know. I may bring it back once my girls are older and I have more time to spend on it!"

Trivia TWOsday

How It Works:
  • Answer the provided trivia questions.
  • Please grab the Trivia TWOsday Button and display it in your post or on your blog.
  • Become a follower of all 3 hosts that way you can keep up to date on future posts, although this isn’t required to participate.
1) What cuss word do you use the most?
2) Do you wish you could change something about your life?

1)  I hate to admit it but I probably use the F word the most out of all of them.  So if you piss me off... beware!  hehe

2)  Hmm, I think almost everyone can say they'd like to change something about their life.  In addition to a couple personal things in my past, including being able to still have my mom here with me, I'd say right now I'd love to be able to change where we live.  I don't like our neighborhood or our house, and if I had my way we'd be back down south in Georgie or South Carolina!

Skin MD Natural Shielding Lotion {Review & #Giveaway}

If you have dry skin and are looking for relief, you may want to ditch your regular lotion and try Skin MD shielding lotion instead.  It works by providing a natural barrier on top of the skin to protect it from outside chemicals and irritants, and also comes available with SPF 15 for extra protection.  It's manufactured in the United States using 100% solar power, free of animal products and animal testing.
Skin MD Natural is over 93% "natural" and the ingredients that are not "natural" are of food or medical grade quality and on the FDA's most safe list.  Their lotions are made to be free of parabens, petrochemicals, dyes, and other irritating ingredients.  Shielding lotion is a breakthrough in skin care and Skin MD Natural is the #1 shielding lotion wordwide.

Eco Friendly, Cruelty Free & Vegan Skin Care

My youngest daughter, who is 19 months old, has very dry patches on her legs and my hands get very dry and chapped from washing.  The Skin MD natural shielding lotion worked well for my hands, smoothing the ugly dry skin between my fingers.  It does feel a little different going on for me than regular lotion, and a little goes a long way so use sparingly!  I haven't noticed much improvement yet on my youngest daughter's legs, but I think hers is a more difficult case of actual eczema rather than just dry skin.

I zoomed as close up as I could so you could really see the difference.  Look between my fingers... click the images to enlarge photos

Things I'll miss about baby days...

My husband and I have 3 beautiful girls and feel like we're 99.9% sure that we are done having kids... no more babies for us.  Though we have brought up the 'What if we had one more?' discussion, I don't think either of us feel that we need or want to have another baby.  So these are some of the things I'll always miss as my girls get older:

  • coming up with baby name ideas
  • hearing them cry for the first time
  • chubby cheeks & thighs perfect for squeezing
  • soft, sweet-smelling baby hair & skin
  • open-mouthed kisses
  • baby giggles and squeals
  • tiny feet and hands
  • tiny baby clothes, blankets, and shoes
  • hearing "mommy" (why does it inevitably have to go to just plain ol' "mom"?)
  • cuddling, rocking, and singing lullaby's
  • first wobbly toddles across the floor
  • hearing 'I love you' for the first time
Everyday our girls are growing bigger and learning more things.  With each new milestone they reach or each birthday that passes, it's always bittersweet... there's pride in seeing them accomplish something but sadness that they're no longer babies anymore.

Even after daughter #3 though, I always said that I wasn't going to make anything permanent.  We think we're done having kids, but we're not closing the door on it entirely.  And I do still have a backup baby girl name if there's ever a 4th girl added to our family and of course a baby boy name also... just in case.  ;)

Is your family complete?  How did you know you were done having kids... or are there more in your future?
