Repair Projects for Spring...

Swingset tarps, carport roofs, and grill covers... oh my!

This has been a long tough Michigan winter, and it's still going.  Looking around outside you can see how harsh the cold weather has been on certain items.

Yes, that is a gaping hole in our swingset tarp.  And it's not like they're cheap to replace either.  Ok well actually they are pretty inexpensive, but Barbeque grill covers generally aren't that cheap and neither are carport roofs.

Though we always hated that carport, so maybe just tearing it down is a better option.  But the grill cover is definitely essential!  We love barbecuing in the summer... heck my hubby would grill year round if he could.

And we spent a good chunk on that grill, so we want to keep it protected.  Maybe this time though, instead of boring black, I can talk my hubby into something a little more spicy & fun. I think I see chili peppers covering our grill this year... maybe.  I'll have to see what my hubby's reaction is after reading this post.  ;)

My Answer:
I think lately I've only been linking up with 2 memes (not including this one)- Post It Note Tuesday & Wordless Wednesday.  And I think my favorite has been Wordless Wednesday.  It allows me to share a picture, usually of my girls, and not have to write a long post to go with it.  This way I'm slowly sharing pictures I love 1 week at a time, without having a super pic-heavy post.

This week's question:
With Labor Day weekend just passing, what is your favorite holiday and why?


My Answer:
This is a tough one, but I think my favorite Holiday is Thanksgiving.  It's in my favorite season- Fall, so it's usually not too cold yet, the leaves are beautiful colors.  You get together with family or friends, eat a huge home-cooked meal w/ all the fixin's, watch football, rest & relax.  And there's no stress of buying presents for anyone.  Though I do also love Christmas just for that reason- to see the looks on my girls faces when they open their gifts from "Santa"... and decorating the tree is so much fun!

This week's question:
What has been one of your favorite memories from this summer?


My Answer:
Well, we didn't do too much this summer, and even our 1 trip up north didn't turn out how it was supposed to- instead of being a family trip, it was me and the girls and my hubby had to work.

But I guess a fave memory is when we did 'Be a Tourist in Your own Town' day.  We went out on a tour boat- all the girls first boat ride (well my 5 yr. old went out in a canoe once before), we visited several museums, visited a park, ate ice-cream... ah, good times!

Another fave memory would have to be my daughter's 5th Birthday- though it's actually slightly before the official start of summer.  I can't believe she's 5 and is starting Kindergarten this Fall!

Ok, well actually my fave combo is none of the above- it's shorts & flip flops... and my runner up is capri's and tennis shoes.  :)
