Finding the Perfect Nursery Decor for your Little One

When I first found out I was going to be a mom almost six years ago I was so happy, and I couldn't wait to start buying all the things we would need to welcome our baby home.  And then when we found out we were having a baby girl, I immediately started looking for the perfect decor for the nursery.

I knew right away the look I wanted and the color palette I had in mind... but I had a hard time finding it at any of the local stores.  So then I turned to the internet, and after searching and searching I finally came across BabyBeddingZone.com.

I wish I would've know about them to begin with, they have a ton of adorable baby bedding sets to choose from, and after only a short time browsing their site I found exactly what I was looking for!  It was pretty and girly with a classic look.  The colors were muted tones- sage, cream, and pink... I was in love and I knew I had to have it!
If I had been at a local store or boutique I would've paid a lot more for it but the price at Baby Bedding Zone was completely affordable and included a lot for the price... and shipping for the set was free.

As soon as it arrived I unpacked everything and made the crib where my daughter would sleep.  And when I brought her home from the hospital for the first time and laid her in it I was the happiest mommy alive.  It was exactly how I had envisioned it- a beautiful nursery and a beautiful baby!

I would definitely recommend Baby Bedding Zone to any mom that's trying to find the perfect bedding and decor for their nursery.  They have adorable bedding sets for girls and super cute crib bedding sets for boys too.
Looking through their site, they even have cute whimsical Dr Seuss crib bedding... everything imaginable to find just the right bedding set for your little bundle of joy.

Artificial or Real... Which do you prefer?

If someone came over to visit, what would they see at your house- real or artificial flowers?  I generally prefer the look of real only because fake flowers tend to look, well... fake.  But artificial plants and flowers have come a long way.  You can now buy artificial ones that look just as real as the real thing.  Unless you actually touched or smelled it, you'd probably never know.
And of course if they're not real you don't have to worry about allergies, messes, or watering. With 3 young kids, I have found myself choosing artificial plants and flowers over real the past several years, and now with better choices I don't have to worry about them looking fake to guests.  I definitely think real fresh flowers are nice every once in awhile, but they don't last long, and with my kids artificial is my day to day pick... how about you?

In need of a table or two...

So if you read my post yesterday, you know that we're lacking in the lighting department at our house, and we need more table lamps in our living room.  Of course what I forgot to mention is that we also need the accent tables to set them on.  *blush*  In our defense, we did just get a new couch right before the holidays.  So we're a little slow in getting the rest of the furniture and accessories... that's normal right?
I can definitely see some nice wood accent and cocktail tables in our near future.  There will be room for some beautiful table lamps on top and maybe some cute accessories on the cocktail table.  Of course, on second thought, maybe we'll skip the cute little knick-knacks until our youngest is just a wee bit older since she still enjoys pulling everything down that she can get her little hands on.  ;)

Lighten up...

I think I may have randomly mentioned in a post sometime back around the holidays that we had finally gotten a "grownup" couch and dining room set.  And we are loving it!  The couch is a sectional, which some may think is big and bulky, but we love having all that heavenly reclining room.  And the dining table and chairs, plus a bench, are actual real wood (an upgrade from previously having glass & metal) with easy-clean cushioned seats.  We will never again run out of seating when we have people over.

On the other hand though, what we don't have enough of in the space is lighting.  We have a total of two floor lamps and even with them both on it's pretty dim in the living and dining room.  There aren't any overhead lights in the living room so we could definitely use some nice looking table lamps to lighten things up.  Something that looks nice and compliments our new couch, perhaps something like this...
