Sneak Peek- Uneaks Review

I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to review a product from CSN Stores, where you can find hundreds of great items in their over 200+ stores.  Anything from as small and delicate as wine glasses, to as big and heavy as sofas!

I decided to pick an item somewhere in the middle ground and chose a pair of Uneaks shoes for my oldest daugher to try.  I've seen these around the web and their 'Uneak-ness' has had me itching to get my hands on a pair (or rather my daughter's feet into a pair)... so stay tuned for the review coming SOON!!

Getting to Know You

Getting to know YOU
Join in the fun and link up with Mannland5

1. If a person has a booger in their nose, and you can see it, do you tell them?
Um, family- yes... person I don't know- look away!

2. What are you passionate about?
My family, and lately... blogging!  :)  I'm also slowly getting my passion back for running like I had back in my school days.

3. How long have you been blogging?
Just 3 short months (started in March 2010).  I would definitely still consider myself a newbie blogger!  :p

4. What is your favorite "summer" drink?
Well lately I have been hooked on McCafe Caramel Frappe's... sooo good!!

5. What is your favorite type of music?
I really do love a little bit of several types of music- pop, rock, alternative, hip hop, oldies... it's too hard to pick just one, but probably lately it's been pop music.

6. Something I do before I go to bed is......?
Hmm, I usually try to check my email one more time, and all the doorlocks (I'm a bit OCD when it comes to making sure the doors are all locked)... then of course I do all the usual bathroom stuff before bed.  :D

7. My Summer vacation plans are...?
Just a short trip a couple hours away up north and then probably camping in the backyard.

8. My favorite must have, can't live without, beauty product is?
My eyelash curler- my lashes are pathetic looking without curling them- and then a good coat of mascara!

For those interested I do a linkup on the weekends (Sat & Sun) called the Weekend Wind Down.  I'd love if you'd share a post and link up or remember me for next weekend!  :)

5th Birthday Gifts

My oldest daughter's 5th birthday is only days away…. aahhh!!  Where did the time go, when did my little girl grow up?!  Thankfully she still is a little girl and wants an Ariel themed cake and party, instead of something like Hannah Montana!  And for gifts, now that she’s in school she wants books, stuff to practice her writing, and coloring stuff.  I’m always on the search for fun educational kids toys for my girls so this tickled me pink to hear her say that.

She of course will still play with almost any toy, and I know she'll love anything we get for her, but she really is into her notebooks, pencils, markers, etc. and things that challenge her.  One of her Christmas gifts was a dry erase board with letter, number, and writing template sheets to practice on and she really enjoys it.  She also received a Melissa & Doug Magnetic Dress-Up Doll and loves playing with it.  And I just seen they have a line of Decorate Your Own kits for kids (jewelry box, mirror, bookmarks, etc.), which I know she would have a fun time doing.

So in addition to her books and writing stuff, some of the other gifts she’ll be getting is a hula hoop, jump rope, play doh set, clothes, shoes, & a sleeping bag (for trips to the Grandparent’s).  And this year she'll be getting her very first piece of jewelry (none of our girls have their ears pierced)... a 'Big Sister' necklace.  I think she's going to really love it and feel so grown up wearing it.  Now that she's getting older, her birthday and Christmas gifts are reflecting that.  I'm so proud and so sad to see her growing up... it's such a bittersweet milestone to have her turning 5 and starting Kindergarten in the fall!

Weekend Wind Down {Swimsuit Edition}

For this Weekend Wind Down, I'm making it my swimsuit edition, since this is the first weekend in June and summer is officially right around the corner.   No you don't have to post any pics if you don't want to, just share a bathing suit or beach/swimming related post and link up.  Also I'd love if you'd snag the WWD button (left sidebar) to add to your post, and remember that the linky list is open both Sat. & Sun.

Some of you may have seen my post on shopping for jeans (I don't generally have good luck when shopping), and now here is my bathing suit shopping experience... and the new swimsuit that came home with me!

I basically started at the same stores as I did for jeans- Kohl's and Macy's.  I almost bought a designer suit from Macy's, which aside from being very pricey was really cute, but I just didn't think I could pull off a bikini this year.  I've lost most of my baby weight since having my daughter 8 mos. ago but my tummy & um backside, still aren't toned back down where they used to be (I'm not sure if they ever will be).  So after explaining to my hubby (he really liked the suit) that I wouldn't be comfortable wearing the bikini to the pool with the kids, we left Macy's and headed to Meijer.

And that's where I found this suit by Free Country, swim separates to mix and match.  They don't sell their apparel directly to consumers at this time, but they can be bought from these retailers.  It's a halterkini top and skirted bottom with built in bikini bottom underneath and pull strings on the side (you can make the skirt a little longer or shorter depending on your mood).  So I'm covered up and confident while swimming and still look stylish... I love my new suit!
