It's a Book by Lane Smith

I love the title and cover of this new book by Lane Smith from Macmillan kids.  It looks simple and classic and yet the characters seem engaging for kids.  It's for ages 6 and up and is like a tribute of sorts to the world of print in an oh-so-prominent digital age.  Check out the cute trailer for it below featuring a techie donkey and a book-loving ape:

 I think it's awesome and super creative to make a trailer for a book, like mixing old-school and new-school.  I think it's important with all the new technology that we continue to expose our children to books and "It's a Book" is making a point of just that.  It doesn't make noise or tweet or instant message... it's just a book (as it should be)!
