No more babies...

It makes me sad to type that.  Is it true?  I think so...

We have 3 beautiful girls who mean the world to us and keep us very busy- ages 5, 2, and the youngest will be 1 years old at the end of this month.   I've been slowly selling or giving away some of the baby stuff, and today someone picked up the baby swing.  It made me sad to see it go, as if for some reason it's more final that we won't have anymore babies with that 1 item gone.

No, it wasn't the final baby item, there's still plenty around the house (and will be for a little while longer).  But it was one of the first baby items I used when my girls were newborns.  It just resembles "baby"- soothing, comforting, great for naps, the familiar sound of it swinging, lullaby music playing.  And with our youngest turning 1, we'll soon see the end of baby bottles and tiny baby clothes & shoes around the house too.  Though of course, a lot of stuff will be saved and put in the keepsake box.

But I think we really are done, for me it's a mixture of things- it feels right (even though I still get sad thinking about it), we're getting older (over 30 and I have yet another bday coming up next week), finances- we want to be able to provide well for our girls... and honestly, I just don't know if my body can handle another one, or if I want to put it through that all over again.

Of course, never say never.  I don't want to say that we're for sure 100% done, because time may change things, but for now it seems we may be seeing our last baby girl turn 1 years old.

What about you- are you done having kids?  How did you know- was it age, finances, family feels complete...?  Or do you still plan to have more?  When will you stop having children- at a certain #, when you reach a certain age...?

After my second, I always kind of left the door cracked but time just kept on slipping by and I gradually got rid of things and one day I realized I was done. But, the finality of it is hard!

I am so done having kids. We thought I was pregnant here recently and I just about had a major panic attack at the mere thought of being pregnant. When Miss Monk was turning one and I was watching the baby stage leave me behind and was seeing all these newborns come in at work,I thought I wanted another one. Now that she is on her way to three (next month!) I am so glad I didn't go with my emotional heart strings.

As much as I love my two girls they are more than enough for me.

I hate being pregnant!!!! My husband and I decided that 3 is enough, but I have to admit it's kinda bittersweet seeing the kids grow up. I just enjoy every single moment with my camera handy :)

My husband and I have three children, ages almost 8, 6 and 2 1/2. After each one, I have this feeling that I'm not complete yet. Very often, I go keep thinking that I'm missing a baby even though I have all three with me. We believe that children are a gift from God and we don't plan our children. God has given husband and wives brains to know when enough is enough, but for us we just haven't gotten to this point. In the past year, I have had four miscarriages with no appearant reason. I agree with you about your age. Risks increase the older you are and pregnancy is physically draining. I often wonder what it will be like for me when I get to that point when there will be no more babies. :( Just enjoy every moment that you have with your children.
